I recently got the Anima Tactics\' Rayne mini (first picture) and as I\'m waiting for the greenstuff to dry on it, I was thinking of what color to paint the clothes, and I am torn, so I was hoping for a little feedback.
Should I go with a \"sweet and innocent\" (but with a scythe) look? (second pic) or stick to a \"I\'m evil and don\'t need to hide it\" look with Gogo Yubari\'s uniform?
If you can pull of a tartan skirt it would rock. Not only would it tie in with the 'cutsie' school girl concept, but it would have enough punk rock connotations to keep it serious. Better still if you look at some of the punk rock skirts online and add a couple of straps from greenstuff you could almost 'punk up' a school girl outfit.
It will be some time before I can get any pictures posted because I'm waiting for the air pump to arrive for my airbrush I just bought and I have to teach myself how to paint with it on a different mini first.
I like the Tartan skirts (after google image searching them) but anything other than gap-filling with green stuff is beyond my aptitude. I use the GW blue/yellow stuff and I have to use vasaline just to keep the stuff from sticking to everything it touches. Major props to those who can actually sculpt with that stuff.
Currently I have a 50mm base covered with grey texture paste from skullcrafts' steampunk kit and I was going to paint it up like asphalt with a hopscotch game painted on with some blood dripping from the weapon. Kind of twisted, but hey, its a schoolgirl with a scythe, right?
Very well done! gotta say love the color choice for the uniform, nice job getting a cute feel to her without going into a sailor moon looking anime girl.
