number one is the same everyone tells me, photos need to be better.

i would recomend browsing through the article section here, there are alot of really great tips and tricks there. what i would work on would be brushcontrol since they look a bit sloppy (i dont know how to express myself softly in english, im swedish). i dont know for how long youve been painting but this is definitely a start.

photo is big enough when i click on it, but for the future: use a uniform background, it will help.

thatīs your forst squad, so of cause there are something to improve:

first of all: yep, unfortunatley they are a bit sloppy ( not meant as an offense, honestly ), since i can see red color where it shouldnīt be.
Next time , take your time, itīs not a race. drill your barrels. read the artcle section.

For starters i would highly recommend you concentrate on clean painting and solid base colors ( yours look uneven ). Once you get that try basic highlighting and shading. No Dry brushing , though - that technique is just messy and wonīt improve your painting.
Also , white and red arenīt easy colors to paint - ask anyone.

You might wanna use the new GW foundation clors, theyīre great for flat base colors.

ok i hope thatīs helpful

balls i keep forgetting about that!!

ignore me.....

another thing to add to the bolter barrel thing is make sure all mould lines are removed!!

personally i would start off with an even base coat of each colour. as mentioned gw foundations are good, as are p3. i dont paint space marines although i do have the new space hulk so i am thinking of painting them up quicky. currently my plan is:
1 prime (ie proper halfords primer, not a crappy spray paint that rubs off as easily as normal pain like gw...)
2 undercoat the main colour (red in my case). i shall be using p3 sprayed through my nice new airbrush for speed (a couple of thin coats should have it done quickly and smoothly)
3 quick zenithal highlighting with the airbrush and a lighter red
4 some edge highlighting
5 wash for shading
6 details
7 gore/weathering

depending on the time you want to spend on it, you can water your paints down further to build up slower and there fore smoother highlights.

it's always a trade off between smoothness/neatness and time
