Hey everyone! Thanks to the encouragement of Grunts1175 I decided to make an article based off of the step by step tutorial I made for a WIP in the forums. It is a tutorial for making nice tabletop quality nurgle armor. Quick easy and like everyone has told me, very old skool but in a good way! Lets get started!
First off here is a list of goodies that will be used in this tutorial: GW Rotting Flesh GW Camo Green GW Catachan Green GW Dark Angels Green GW Liche Purple GW Chaos Black Reaper Brush-On Sealer
This first picture just shows the base coat which is a mix of 50/50 catachan green and camo green. Mixed with around 25% water so that it goes on smoothly.

Once the base coat is done I then picked out areas that I wanted to have a darker look and base coated these areas with pure catachan green. I do this because it adds a nice aesthetic to the mini. Arrows indicate some of the areas I did this to. Basically any areas that I figure are not directly hit by light from above should be a bit darker. These areas will receive no highlighting and will provide nice contrast when the mini is finished.

This next picture starts the general shading with pure catachan green. Areas that are less exposed to light from above and in some small cases areas that will help add some interest to the mini. About 2 parts water to one part paint. I also added a drop of brush on sealer from reaper as I find it helps keep the paint where I want it. I find that the paint looks too streaky for me if I do not add the sealer. It is basically a medium which helps to suspend the pigments in your paints, any medium will do or you can just use water. It is really up to you. Also if you find that the shade color are going on your mini with too strong of a pigment just add some extra water to your mix to help tone it down a bit.

Absolutely stunning. The Highlights in the last pictures are amazing. I would love to see the model fully painted. I am currently considering of starting a nurgle chaos marine army. And this method would make my chaos marines really stand out and make my friends jealous

That looks so good! Definitely higher than tabletop quality I must say. Thanks!
