Hi all, sorry to repost this again, however I went back and took new photos in order to get better close ups of the paint job on Tiriel, as requested. I hope this answers a lot of the questions about her!!
Here was my entry for CCV. My goal here was to create a full scene with a story and ambience in this piece. I had this idea floating around in my head and when I thought about adding the Tiriel model it just clicked for me. The idea of a paladin facing a dragon, believing that her faith is more important than her sword, reflecting her mindset, I felt really added to the whole story here. Thank you Hasslefree for such a wonderful model.
Also big thank you to Frenchkid, who gave me the idea of dualing shadows on a backdrop in the first place. The backdrop is completely painted on a 2d surface. I've been working to challenge myself combining 2d & 3d in my pieces. I think it was a great learning experience for me.
Thank you for all your CCV votes, she ended up best in show. And thank you Jason for such a wonderful and fun event!

Avelorn 10-Apr-05 #129472 | | Rating: 9 Great idea! The thing bringing it down is the background, the shadows are to harshly painted to my eyes. Shadows are softer and with more tones of grey. I don't like the brickwall also.. i looks very painted and detracts from the mood. The osl from the fire looks great and the mini itself is topnotch. Great mood.. and i just totally misread the title. May faith Project? who tf is May Faith..? lol it all made more sence with protect. well.. again great, inspiring work. /Sven |

Thanks for sharing! |
