My fifth green, i will post the forth as soon as i can jeje.
this one came out pretty quickly, its actually a "WIP" shot. I will explain that, i still have to do the banner but i wanted to take a shot now coz the banner wont let you see part of it, so please dont judge it as a WIP Anyway I am very pleased with it, the proportion came out great and it is exactly 28 mm high, i was inspired by a bretonnian lord on foot that i saw here, dont remember the name of the artist but Thank You Guys!!
Soon I will post a pic of it compleatly finished

kowlown 13-Dec-04 #114214 | | Rating: 7 it's really good, especially for a 5th attempt... I'm also new to sculpting and must admit you done a great job. You should work harder to get more realistic faces and chainmail though. I like how you achieved the armour parts with GS. NICE |
JohnnyBBad 08-May-04 #84289 | | Rating: 8 Man, I hate to nitpik on this one because it's very nice, but it seems that the face is to long for his height. It starts with the nose being to long which brings the mustache too low which brings his chin too low. This face would work very well on a taller guy. I don't know how to do the chainmail either, but I know it's wrong. I hope you don't get discouraged because I really like everything else about this mini. |
Inferno40K 08-May-04 #84166 | | Rating: 8 Great job, very detailed and natural-looking. There's that little issue with the chainmail, yes, but I don't think it's so important after all My only little doubit is about the face, it looks a bit... strange in the bottom shot, don't know why. Anyway, congratulations |
petethemighty 07-May-04 #84142 | | Rating: 10 Another great job.... the proportions are certainly improving and I think fit in with other figures from GW very well. All the detailing is great, though I agree about the chainmail. Still, great work |
ZaPhOd 07-May-04 #84079 | | Rating: 9 Very cool job. He looks like he would fit right into the Bretonnian mythoi. The armor detail is very good, and I like that helmet a lot. Face is pretty nice with the beard and all but i suspect the head is a touch big. Maybe not. I would dig painting this guy for sure Great job! - Glyn |
Day 07-May-04 #84071 | | Rating: 8 Good work. The only thing I can complain about is the mail: now it looks like that you've only made some holes with a pin instead of trying to make them look like rings. Here's a link to a great presentation by Ramon Laan which explains what i'd do: http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/u/pjlehtim/maalaus/ramon/sculpting/img42.html
His method isn't even any slower, you just make holes from different sides of each row of links in the mail. Anyhow, keep on sculpting, I'll go and see the rest of your greens. | |
