Here, with my new camera, you have very close up shots of my Grey Knight! Vibrant colour scheme as usual He is slightly converted, I added a few guitar strings and repositioned him. The base was great fun to make, I wanted the model dark and dirty. I'm quite pleased with the slime pouring from the pipe, and the tau railgun. This mini was a great opportunity for me to practise my metallics, and I think they came out alright I washed with greens, browns and black, and for the vents in the backpack and the arm/leg joints, I added purples, blues and greens for an oily effect. The goldsI wanted to be brighter in comparsion to the gritty silver tones. I didn't use any inks at all; all the metals were shaded with diluted paint only. The lenses were a bastard to paint! Overall, I'm quite pleased with this mini and I might enter him in Youngbloods this year.
Comments welcomed, I hope you like him

AinuLainour 25-Jun-06 #183204 | | Rating: 10 As always, 1+ for your age, but this is so well done. Great work, Bill. |
the dark angel 25-Jun-06 #183126 | | Rating: 9 this is a very nice piece of work you have inspired me to do this on a marine of my own. now on to judgeing...well the base wins marks (i found that out last year) converting also wins marks but you dont want to make them to complex remeber this is a painting contest not a converting 1 (well it is in a way). good luck! |
Bill 25-Jun-06 #183111 | | Rating: - Well, this isn't necessarily my entry. The gold and Bronze winners at UK GD last year were both unconverted, and the silver only slightly. |
RedSevenBlue 24-Jun-06 #183101 | | Rating: 8 You could have the best painted mini at young bloods and lose just because you didn't convert. Convert your entry, that always gets the judges. | |
