Here he is again, he has been tidied up Basically, with my nice new Green Stuff I made some smoother joins with his arms, touched up dodgy areas of the paint job, and added a nailed-in shoulder plate (made from Green Stuff and a yakult lid). I painted the skin around the plate slightly purple, as to look irritated I hope you like him, I am very pleased with him-he is my best work to date. Please bear in mind that I'm only 13 years old, he is a possible Youngbloods entry this year. Please leave a comment if you have time, I'd love some feedback!
Happy painting!

What a nice rhino! |
Bill 14-Mar-06 #171152 | | Rating: - The right eye is purple because it is bruised. The eye is discoloured from the punch The lighting does look strange, but it was suppose to emphasise the brightness of his gutplate against the darkness of the rest of the model: it almost glows in comparison to the rest. Hopefully when I get better photos online you will be able to see him clearer, sorry about the poor quality Thank you for your feedback David. ~Bill |
david waeselynck 14-Mar-06 #171144 | | Rating: 6 Good minis but too many put colors a little everywhere. Metals are not pass obscured, too many colors still. Blow it is not very realistic .Why the purple one under the right eye? why the right eye is orange/rouge and it left white?
your light is not good whole, it always should be thought that it comes from the top, therefore cleared up more volumes on the outside and shades of advantage in the hollows and the lower parts.for example, shades more under the chest, under arms, under the buttocks and cleared up more on the shoulders, nape of the neck etc...but continuous, it is while combing that one becomes better, good courage, cordially .and yes it is necessary to avoid the black ligning but to prefer a color darker, blue kind dark for the trousers and nonblack David |

Bill 11-Mar-06 #170854 | | Rating: - I realise that these photos are not great. Would you like me to post another with bigger photos? These ones don't really do him justice. ~Bill |
Zajon V 10-Mar-06 #170797 | | Rating: 7 7,5..... beautifull face and skin! i don't like che sword and metal... |
Bill 10-Mar-06 #170796 | | Rating: - Thank you both very much @dragonsreach: I have taken your advice on board, I have used a scorched brown/black wash in the recesses of his stabby thing, and added a smidge of purple to a Catachan green/bleached bone mix to define his nipples. He looks better! Thanks!
Happy painting!

mistamick 10-Mar-06 #170735 | | Rating: 9 brilliant model, love the tattoos, stuff you guy, nipples look fine |
Dragonsreach 10-Mar-06 #170722 | | Rating: 7 That's a pretty good piece of work so far. It's all neat and tidy. But the things that catch my eye are the nipples are the same colour as the rest of the skin tone and the rust effect on the metal isn't quite right. I think you need to darken the areas where the metal sections area touching and perhaps try a little dark brown wash (scorched brown) in those junctions. It'll give the impression of old aged rust and add some depth. You won't need a lot just a very thin wash painted into those areas only. | |
